African Impact reviews are they legit?
Quote from Oliviaaa on January 12, 2025, 11:26 pmHas anyone heard of African Impact or been to volunteer or intern with them? Can you let me know as I read lots of positive reviews but then I saw some comments on Facebook and Reddit that you need to be careful with wildlife conservation trips as they aren't ethical and some are scams with big fees. Help appreciated.

Quote from ava2005 on April 22, 2025, 5:21 pmHi, I just saw your message and I was wondering if you applied in the end and went to volunteer with African Impact?
I'm just looking at wildlife volunteering in Africa and African Impact are on my shortlist but I read a few comments on a Facebook page called Volunteers in Africa Beware which has kinda given me second thoughts about the company and how the research projects are a bit rubbish rather than actually helping contribute to real conservation.
I would be interested to hear your thoughts or from any other previous volunteers of African Impact.

Quote from Gap Year World on May 12, 2025, 10:14 pmWe don't work with African Impact on our website and so we can't really tell you if they are a good/bad company to apply with, but you do need to be very cautious with volunteering organisations in Africa especially those offering wildlife programs with lions which can be linked to the canned hunting industry. You might like to view our Africa gap year programs for trips.
