Gap year opportunities in Birmingham / Midlands?

Does anyone know of any gap year options for Birmingham and the Midlands or nearby? I want to take a gap year but I don't have the funds to go away so I was considering staying home. Thanks.

Do you have anything specific in mind for what you would like to do? Not all gap year opportunities are overseas, there are lots of options in the UK especially in the larger cities like Birmingham. From work experience, volunteering, to summer jobs - you can find lots of options.

Where in Brum are you from? Have you thought about doing a summer season in Europe? Thats what I'm planning to do.
