Is a gap year a 'wasted year'?

Am I wasting a year taking a gap year? I'm thinking about a year off to take a work experience placement or teach abroad. Should I instead just get on with studying instead or look for a real job?

A gap year can be anything you want it to be. It can be the best experience of your life, but you will need to make a plan for what you want to do. If you don't apply to a program or have a clear idea for what to do, you could find the time could have been better spent or at worst you feel bored. But there are so many options including work experience and teaching programs. Have you had a look at our website to see if anything appeals to you?
