NHS work experience

So I applied to the health records department for the NHS for year 12 work experience and I was wondering what the competition and demand is for this work experience programme? It says on the website that they only take in two students per placement and they occurs every six months so they only take in four students a year. That's not a lot at all. So I'm wondering if there's high demand for these programmes. Thanks.

Hi Emz, I imagine lots of medical students want these types of placements so competition can be high. Have you thought about applying direct to your local hospital? Maybe on the off chance of getting a foot in the door ahead of the others.
