Travelling in Southeast Asia for 1 Year Advice
Hello everybody!
Myself and my partner are heading to Chiang Mai soon to start a year travelling. We've been trying to decide on an itinerary that we can loosely follow. The plan was to travel around and trying to stay within the nicer weather available at that time. We will be travelling by land wherever possible to keep our costs down (we don't live lavishly to begin with) and travelling by air when required for visas.
The basic itinerary we have came up with is as follows:
April-First week in May: Northern Thailand
May-June: Cambodia
June-August: Vietnam
September: Myanmar
October-November: Indonesia
December: Southern Thailand/Phuket/Ko Phi Phi
January: Laos
February: Southern Thailand/Koh Samui/Ko Pha Ngan/Ko Tao
March-April: Undecided?
We are more interested in seeing national parks and temples over nightclubs and expensive dining.
If anybody who has done something like this before could give some pointers that would be wonderful and greatly appreciated!
